Ok it seems I have left the blog to stagnate for quite some time. Almost half of the holidays have gone by. I'm a lazy girl :P The day I don't slack all my holidays away without accomplishing anything would be the day I'm all matured and grown up. Better grades will surely come my way but alas, I don't seem to have achieved that for this holiday. At least not yet as of 28th November 10.04 pm. xD Hope everyone is having a blast for their hols. PLAY HARD PLS! Next year, there definitely wont be too much time to go out and play. ><. Sigh, I don't want to grow uppppppp!!! Gonna be 18 next year!! That feel's so olddddd! *whines* The only bright spot is the entitlement to purchase of alcohol. That's abit exciting, though I dont really drink so not much difference. What have I been doing? Hmmm. Let's see. I'm currently working, to earn a little extra $$ for si1 fang2 qian2. Haha. xD Sorting a whole year's worth of invoice. @.@ Eyes nearly popped out. But I think we're catching the rhythm and becoming more efficient. We're doing it a little faster yet with uhh more slacking, like watching youtube/veoh while sorting. Hehe. But we became more efficient! xD shh. dont tell my boss xD
Been trying to do a bit of reading too. I've missed books so much! Oh man. I used to love reading in my primary school days! I was the kind who would read under the table during lessons. Then the hobby died when I entered secondary school. Barely read 1 book per year i think. >< sucked. I didnt know what books to read cos I outgrew the series I used to read. Trying to pick up the nice old habit again. It's actually very nice to curl up somewhere with a good book and dive into storyland. Let's you escape from the real world for awhile :P Reading this book called "The Solitare Mystery" by Jostein Gaarder. Quite an interesting and philosophical book. Throws in a few new perspectives that I had never thought of before. There was this rather interesting point brought up. One of the characters voiced out how he thought it was so strange and amazing that human beings are clever in so many ways, constantly inventing new things and exploring science and how the universe works. This is what many of us do, we often muse about how complicated the human brain is. The other character then goes a step further to provide an explanation and replied, "If our brain were so simple, we'd be so stupid that we wouldn't be able to understand it. For example, an earthworm's brain is relatively simple. We humans understand more or less how the earthworm thinks. However, the earthworm, being simple minded because of its simple brain, is unable to reach our level of understanding. " Haha how true. We may have some knowledge of the way invisible cogs turn in our brains, but we don't exactly know why the cogs turn that way. How the hell did Newton manage to come up with the theory of gravity just because an apple dropped on his head? He wondered about why all things fall downwards. But why did he wonder that thought? Haha. Hmmm I think I may be starting to confuse myself. But oh wells. xD Oh there was another interesting pov brought up about the existence of God too. It's nothing religion-sensitive. When the boy asked his dad whether he believed in God, the Dad said no he did not. Instead, he believed that God is sitting up in the heavens laughing before ppl don't believe in him. He believes that there is a God, and yet his skeptical self does allow him to believe in the existence of God, so he believes that God is up in the heavens laughing at people because they dont believe in him. Haha, a rather refreshing pov don't you think? xD Yups. Interesting book. Haha. Been following a really nice original fanfiction entitled "Queen of glass" on fiction press too. It's nice and long. The author has damn imba writing skills. Thank you joelle for introducing me to it! I'm addicted to it. The fic has 80 over chapters and each chapters averaging quite a few thousand words I think. Longest fic I've ever seen O.o Takes me more than 40 minutes to read one. =x If only it were a book! Then it would have been so much more enjoyable. It's rather strenuous to read online. Haha. I'm more about 60chapters through, reading it slowly now to savour it. Don't want it to end! xD
On a more exciting note. We went to ubin on Monday! Went there to celebrate Bixue's birthday at Chek Jawa. It was raining at noon so we had to wait for the rain to stop before heading there or else we could have spend more time there. We reached ubin at about 3 and rented bikes till 6.30. Biked to Chek Jawa and went to the boardwalk that we walked through for Class adventure camp. It was low tide when we went there so all sorts of interesting creatures could be seen. As usual there were all the colourful fiddler crabs and cute mudskippers. It was nearing evening time so we saw alot of birds coming to feed. I guess it wasnt that bad that we were delayed by the rain. We saw quite a few different kinds of fishing birds. There were the quite common cattle egrets that can be now seen in fields along the road these days because I think they have adapted to a new diet with lesser seafood. And then there were those pretty and graceful black, white and gray stork birdies. There were also the small brown birds picking for food in the sand during low tide. Not sure of their name xD. Oh and we also saw these fishing birds with huge wingspans fishing! Saw one of them swoop down and grab a fish from the sea. Omg. Damn cool. They must have damn good eyesight and accuracy. Oh oh and the highlight of our trip! WE SAW A WHOLE FAMILY OF WILD BOARS COMPLETE WITH PIGLETS/BOARLETS! Oh man. We were walking down the boardwalk, then suddenly we spied brown round things hurrying to the shore. One parent was in front leading the way and another parent was bringing up the rear. The piglets were safe and scurrying along after their papa/mama in the middle. We got damn excited at this super cute site and kinda uhh, ran towards them on the boardwalk, which was totally the wrong thing to do. We freaked the daylights out of them. I think the parents must have been like " OMGWTFBBQ! Weird creatures with flailing arms and making loud scary noises! Danger! Back back back!" And they turned tail and led the way to chiong back, still in keeping the one line formation to keep their piglets safe. And the poor bewildered piglets scuttled along, half tumbling. Omg. It was damn cute and heartwarming! Hahaaha. It's really fun to cycle at ubin! Fun and cheap! The slopes are awesome, as long as you be abit more careful. Don't know why I get some incredulous look from people occasionally when I comment that cycling at ubin is UBER FUN. Muahaha.
Let's see the fandom and want-to-dos for this holiday:
- Nodame Cantabile! -> Nice J-drama! Everyone should go watch it. It's hilarious. xD
- Tamaki Hiroshi! Nyahaha. He played the male lead for Nodame. Not very very shuai.Didn't find him shuai when I first started watching Nodame. But maybe because of his role/ the way he carry himself, he seems to have this X-factor. Everyone I know who watched the show likes him. Hee hee~ Fiona says he's suave. I think so too! ^^ He plays the guitar well! I like his songs too xD
- Hana yori dango! Wheee. That's the japanese meteor garden for you. The original series is a manga series which turned into anime and then into live action. Wheee. Bishies galore in there! *swoons*
- Bryan Adams! Omg. I just realised besides the OST for Spirit, Stallion of the Cimmaron, Bryan Adams has other very nice songs! Whee. I like him! He's like 49 years old! >< sheesh. Maybe I have father complex. Hehe.
- Queen of Glass fanfiction! Heehee.
- Beauty and the Beast! Haha. Suddenly felt like watching Disney's beauty and the beast again after I heard the song 'Me' that Hugh Jackman did for the OST. I like Hugh Jackman too! xD
- Anastasia! Always wanted to watch Anastasia but somehow never got round to watching it. The theme 'At the beginning' is like a popular favourite.
- After watching Hana Yori Dango where Domiyouji did a damn difficult puzzle of the star-filled night sky where all pieces look the same,I'm inspired to complete my own puzzle too! xD
Haha.Wow what a long entry. Shall add on to the list as my fandom grows/ want-to-dos increase. xD Back to fanfiction. Cya uhhh in a long time after in the next post and have fun! ^^
