Hello everyone and all my fans, especially to my number one most ardent fan ying shi.Thank you so much for your support for all these years! Here is a blogpost to announce that I am not quite dead yet, still alive and kickin'. It is now 1:19am. We just came back from a nice midnight drive around the neighbourhood. xD The drive wasnt a last minute crazy spur of the moment that we had because you must know that our family values sleeping early and constantly enforces this belief with tireless nagging by both highly respected and beloved maker of this cosy family of five. Anyway that's not the point. That's just me being delirious and tired and crappy. The point is that the drive was a necessity that required immediate attention. We had a mission to complete. A sacred mission to recharge the car battery. This eventful night begins with Mama Loh notifying me that she could not pick me up from the train station because the engine of our homely little family car could not be started. When Papa Loh returned from work later, he diagnosed that some smart alec in the house had turned on the reading lights in the car on Sunday night and forgotten to switch it off upon aligting the car. After that fateful Sunday night, the use of said car was not required till today, which hence resulted in the late detection of the little careless accident. For those unfamiliar with automobiles, this forgetful act of the smart alec had caused the car battery to run till it was almost flat which in turn resulted in Mama Loh not being able to start the engine as mentioned earlier in the story. At about 12 am 13th December, (which brings me to a point. HAPPY 17TH BIRTHDAY BIXUE!), the entire family was mobilised, with Mama Loh dragged from the warm and snug comfort of her blanket, to carry out the rescue operation. We huffed and we puffed and we slowly pushed the car out from the parking slot and onto the driveway of the multi-storey carpark with Papa Loh navigating. We then tried to push the family car down the driveway to start it manually but alas, the driveway was too short. Or maybe it was because the four of us ladies were unable to push the car fast enough. We'd covered 3/4 of the driveway before the car gave a half hearted splutter, and failed to come to life. At this moment, when we were disheartened by our failed rescue attempt and trying to figure what step to take next with the car stuck in the middle of nowhere along the driveway, help miraculously arrived sometime passed midnight. A nice gentlemen, presumed to be returning home from a long day at work drove into the carpark and spotted our family on our rescue mission. Might I add, he was a rather fine looking gentlemen too. Our 7th floor neighbour who apparently is working in the army, so says Mama Loh helpfully.Anyway, thanks to our lucky stars, this kind gentlemen had the connecting cables in his car and he drove his nice orange car right up to ours and connected his car battery to ours, in order to charge it up a little, just enough to start the engine. After a few more attempts in about 10 minutes, the engine gave a final cough and roared into life! Rescue mission completed! Thanking our helpful neighbour, we went on a windy and refreshing midnight or rather, past midnight, twilight maybe? drive around the neighbourhood and to and back Punggol beach to charge up the battery sufficiently. What a fun night. Ain't everyday you get to push a car with flat battery to try start it up ^^
Before I go, let me introduce everyone to Domokun! *points below* Wave and say hi! He's from Japan so his clock is tuned according to Japan time which is about 1 hr faster than here in Singapore. He's adorable eh? ^^
